I am married to the British. My 14 year daugter and I live in the UK in the house of my husband. We got married in Ukraine this April.I have visa-wife for 2 year, my daughter has her visa (depended from me)for 2year, too.
My husband tells me that I am a foreigher and that I don't have any rights in the UK.
We have lived in the UK for 1.5 month and I am have not worked yet.My husband refused to show me his salary and spend his salary how he wants.He said that it was not my business, because I was not working. I would like to ask you about advice for my situation. Where can I get knowledge about my rights in family? Can you call me books or WEB sites in Internet about family righs in English family?I am sure my husband is not right. Because if we have got hew progressive family rights in Ukraine, I am sure the UK has not worse family rights.

  Уважаемая Надя, как иностранный гражданин, Вы, действительно, имеете ряд ограничений в правах - например, Вы не можете участвовать в выборах (кроме выборов местного совета самоуправления - Council). В целом же Вы пользуетесь всеми теми гражданскими правами, что и британцы. Получить бесплатную юридическую консультацию Вы можете в CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) на ближайшей к вам High Street, никаких документов и прочего предъявлять не нужно - просто приходите и занимайте место в очереди.
